motherfucker.....every year.. soon as the mysterious ball of heat turns up chucklefucks start smashing bottles in the street (i ought to rub their faces in it)
i dont get it.... over here you even get money back for returning the bottles

I hate that yellow orb so much.
I got sweaty on a short walk today. Totally unacceptable.

It seems like for bottle deposits to be effective, you’d want them to be at least an order of magnitude higher. In North America anyway, most of these laws came into effect in the ‘70s and ‘80s which means that the deposit, which was always small, has lost ~60-85% of its value.

beer bottles get 10 or 20 cents here.... its hardly gonna break the bank
but come on... its money back
(i mean... if you absolutely have to smash the bottles... least you can do is smash em on your head and swallow the shards)

Yellow orb
Appears in the sky
Temperatures are on the rise
And what do I see, to my non-surprise?
Sparkly, discarded bottles here in the street
To puncture both tires
And my soft, gentle feet
Waiting for my buddies to show up, so we can get Mexican food.

I’m under the impression that bottle glass isn’t strong enough to puncture tires, though? It would just break apart if you drove over it.

car tires... you’d have to be unlucky...
bicycle tires on the other hand they’ll eat for lunch.... get a big enough shard and it wont just be the tube thats toast either

Definitely hazardous for bicycle tires! Godspeed and good luck.
